Butiken i Hörken utlyser ett residens för yrkesutövande konstnärer inom dans, koreografi, performance/tvärkonstnärliga samarbeten. Residenset pågår i en vecka och innehåller egen studiotid samt 1-2 nedslag med producenter Terry Johnson och Sara Bergsmark där vi tillsammans ser över din verksamhet och tittar på strategier framåt. Det finns även möjlighet att bjuda in ytterligare kompetens för ett kortare coachande samtal, t.ex. en tekniker, kommunikatör eller expert inom ett ämne. Residenset passar dig/er som är i uppstartsfas med ett nytt projekt eller vill ha stöd i att navigera, kontextualisera och planera sin verksamhet.
Residenset, som äger rum i Hörken i Ljusnarsbergs kommun, kan sökas av grupper om 1-3 personer som arbetar tillsammans med en produktion, researcharbete eller annan typ av scenkonstnärligt utforskande. Residenset påbörjas på en måndag och avslutas på en söndag. Detaljerat upplägg för perioden planeras ihop utifrån konstnärernas behov.
Residenset genomförs i samarbete med Dans i Örebro län/Region Örebro län. Samverkan inom och/eller arbete i relation till platser inom regionen är meriterande i utlysningen.
Följande ingår i residenset:
20 000 kr i arvodering, tur och retur-resa till platsen, traktamente, boende samt fri tillgång till kontor och studio.

Butiken är en f.d butikslokal omgjord till kontor och studio i Hörken, Ljusnarsbergs kommun. I lokalen finns ett rymligt kontor med fyra skrivbordsplatser för administrativt arbete och skrivande. Studion består av ett rum om 6x6 meter med trägolv, tillgång till dansmatta och enklare ljud/ljus. Boende erbjuds i anslutning till residenset. I boendet finns alla faciliteter för vistelsen samt tre separata sovrum.
Till Hörken åker du kollektivt genom att ta tåget till Grängesberg med efterföljande buss.
Residenset har begränsad tillgänglighet med trappor för att ta sig in i lokalen.

Butiken in Hörken announces a residency for professional artists working in dance, choreography and performance. The residency duration is one week and offers full time access to the studio/allocated studio time for artistic research as well as 1-2 sessions with the producers Terry Johnson & Sara Bergsmark with focus on the applicants current artistic practice, mapping the(ir) work and making joint strategies for future development. It also includes the possibility of a coaching session to gain knowledge that is needed for the work, e.g. with a technician, communicator or expert in a certain topic. The call is open to both research in relation to a new project/production in an early state of development, or for utilizing the time to focus on navigating, contextualizing and structuring one's artistic practice.
The residency, which takes place in Hörken in Ljusnarsberg, is suitable for artists/groups of 1-3 people that work with a production, artistic research or other forms of performative work. The residency starts on a Monday and ends on a Sunday. The details of the week are planned together according to the artist's needs.
This residency is a collaboration with Region Örebro County. Work in relation to the region is positively viewed for this call.
Included in the residency:
A residency fee of 20 000 SEK to be paid to the artist/s, round trip to Hörken, per diem, accommodation and free access to studio and office space.

Butiken is a former store converted into an office and studio in Hörken, Ljusnarsberg. The store has a spacious office with four desks for administrative work and writing. The studio consists of a room of 6x6 meters with wooden floors, access to a dance mat and basic sound/lights. Full accommodation is offered in the house adjacent to the residency, suited for 1-3 people. Hörken is easily accessible through public transport by taking the train to Kopparberg or Grängesberg, followed by a short bus ride.
The residency space has limited accessibility, with staircases to get into the house by all entrances.

Nordisk residensutbyte
I juni 2024 genomförde Butiken en pilot för ett nordiskt residenssamarbete mellan Butiken i Hörken och Tou i Stavanger. Med stöd av Region Örebro bjöd vi in Stavangerbaserade konstnären Ingvild Maria Thingnes på en veckas residens i Hörken. Målet är att utveckla ett långsiktigt nordiskt residensutbyte.

Open Call: Residencies in Butiken in Hörken summer and autumn 2023
Three residencies with different content are announced for summer and autumn 2023 in Hörken, Ljusnarsberg. Read about the three specific residencies, Butiken and how to apply below.
Residency for the development of choreographic work to be performed in art galleries
This residency is a collaboration between Butiken in Hörken and Örebro Konsthall and is open for professional artists in dance, choreography and performance, who want to create artistic work that can be performed in art galleries. The residency is optimal for an artist who is in the process of developing a piece or has a strong interest in working in that context. During the residency, you will get support from the staff at Örebro Konsthall regarding your artistic idea and what is good to know when working with performance in these kinds of spaces. There is also an opportunity to get support for technical adjustments of an existing piece.
The residency starts on a Monday with a start-up meeting and a visit to Örebro konsthall, followed by a working period in the studio in Butiken during the week and an open showing at Örebro konsthall the upcoming Saturday. The format for the open showing is flexible and will be decided through conversation. Arrival and departure days will be Sundays.

About Örebro konsthall
Örebro Konsthall mission is to provide exciting art experiences for the citizens of Örebro and city visitors by exhibiting Swedish and international contemporary art of high quality. Örebro Konsthall is part of the municipality of Örebro and is in charge of the municipal art collection, which currently consists of approximately 8300 works of art. These are mostly deposited in various places, for example, offices, schools and homes for the elderly. About 300 pieces are placed outdoors in parks and squares. Örebro Konsthall strives to make art accessible to a wide audience and offers various programs such as art talks and art education for all ages.
During the residency, the gallery shows an exhibition by Magnus Thierfelder Tzotzis.

Residency focusing on navigating and creating strategies for one’s artistry
This is a residency for professional artists in dance, choreography and performance, focusing on navigating, placing and planning artistic work. The residency is not purely production based but aims to contextualize, process, clarify and deepen a long-term and sustainable practice for the selected artist(s). You may apply with an ongoing project or with a broader question about your artistic work and career. The residency is a co-thinking session around the artist’s work together with producers and possibly other invited guests.
The call is for one 1-week residency. During each week, we work together through conversations and workshops. Together, we will set your future goals through vision work. Designed and structured exercises will aid in navigating the field nationally and internationally and process subject-specific challenges based on needs such as: artistic process, planning and budgeting, tour adaptation and/or grant applications.
The residence also includes one day of technical coaching with a technical coordinator, the opportunity to go on study visits in the area and the possibility of inviting an external guest with certain expertise based on the artist’s needs. For example, it can be someone familiar with a certain subject, knowledge of certain technology, communication etc.
After the end of the residency period, participants write a short reflection on the residency and conduct an evaluation.

Residency for producers
This is a group residency open for producers working within the performing arts. You apply with individual questions and needs, and from that, the residency gathers a group of producers to exchange experiences and co-think about the role of the producer. During the residency, you will get time for individual work to develop your own producer’s practice, as well as conversations and workshops with the group. Scheduling of our time together, including guest lectures, will be planned according to the needs we see in the applications.

Residency at the store in Hörken Spring 2023
Three residences are announced for professional artists and collaborators in the field of dance, choreography, performance/cross collaborations in Hörken, Ljusnarsberg Municipality. The residency invites constellations of 2-3 people per week and selected residents will use this time as an opportunity to work on a project or research of their choice with a dance studio, a designated office, accommodation in close proximity to the residency space and the newly sprung summer nature of Bergslagen as resources at hand. Three one week residences will be offered during May-June.
The residency offers a contact person who will greet you upon your arrival and make sure that you settle in as well as be available for practical questions during your week long stay, but the residency is mainly self organizing and an opportunity for the applicants to spend dedicated time on a specific project, which can be both research or production aimed.
To apply to this residency please submit a cover letter (maximum of 1 A4) wherein you describe your practice as well as a short formulation on what you intend to work on during the residency. In addition, please send a short CV along with your preferred dates for the residency. All documents should be sent in PDF format. Make sure to state your name on each document.

2022
In 2022 we organized five residencies 2022. The residency was not production based but aimed to contextualize, process, clarify and deepen a long-term and sustainable practice for the selected artist(s). We were happy to dive into conversations and practices together with Adam Seid Tahir & Lydia Östberg Diakité, Klara Utke Acs, Aleksandar Georgiev, Tilman O´Donnell and Sunniva Vikor Egenes.
In September 2022 we welcomed five freelance producers working within the fields of performing arts. Together we shared our experiences, shared knowledge and made space for deepening our producer practices.

Nätverksträff för frilansande scenkonstproducenter
In September 2022, we organize a network meeting for freelance performing arts producers. The meeting will be held in Swedish.
I september 2022 arrangerar vi en nätverksträff för frilansande scenkonstproducenter från hela landet. Dagarna innehåller samtal, erfarenhetsutbyte, workshops och föreläsningar. Träffen äger rum i Butiken, en plats för konstresidens i Hörken, Ljusnarsbergs kommun.
Det fria scenkonstfältet har ett stort behov av kontinuerliga producenter. Vi vill bidra till en bredare sammanhållning och långsiktighet inom fältet. Syftet med dagarna är att dela erfarenheter och kunskaper från olika scenkonstfält, utveckla våra kunskaper inom vissa områden och stärka nätverksbyggandet för frilansande producenter över landet.
Ämnen vi kommer att beröra under träffen är ledarskap och grupputveckling, kommunikation, framtida organisering och finansiering i fältet, den egna producentpraktiken samt lokalt och internationellt arbete. Gästföreläsare är PeO Sander, lektor i scenkonstproduktion på Stockholms Konstnärliga Högskola, Anna Wallgren, kommunikatör på MDT m.fl.
Gruppen som medverkar ses sedan under hösten 2022 på två incheckningar på zoom för uppföljning.
Träffen leds av Terry Johnson & Sara Bergsmark, som tillsammans driver producentverksamheten Johnson & Bergsmark. De har sin bas i växelverkan mellan Stockholm och Hörken och producerar, curaterar och undervisar inom scenkonst. Läs mer på www.johnsonbergsmark.com
