In 2023, Butiken facilitated four different kind of residencies
A residency focusing on creating work for art galleries. Escarleth Romo Pozo spent a week in Hörken together with colleagues Robert Malmborg and Adde Hummonen, to dive into the work with the piece Yielding. We collaborated with Örebro konsthall, who hosted a work-in-progress presentation of the work.
Residency focusing on navigating and creating strategies for one’s artistry. We spent a week with Ellen Norlund and Siri Jennefelt, forming the artist duo The Wind. We took part of their work with Funghi and Orlando, and zoomed in on what it means to be a duo in a long term collaboration.
Residency for producers. For the second year in a row, we welcomed a group of five performing arts producers with the aim to the aim to deepen and develop our practices as culture workers together and individually. Daniel Iinatti, Agnes Rosenberg, Molly Byström, Cynthia Botello and Thomasine Boris-Möller all contributed with a wide range of knowledge and everyday practices.
Three independent residencies. We also facilitated three residencies where the artist worked independently on a project in a research face. Nadja Voorham, Rocio and Susanne Grau and Mira Jägemar & Gabriella Hällzon all spent one week each in Hörken to focus on their respective upcoming projects.
